For example, a person who travels a lot could put together a Travel Guide with a list of hot spots, sight seeing, great restaurants, pleasurable activities, or helpful tips and travel advices. Self-motivated individuals are always looking for opportunities that they can capitalize on. These people actually go out of their way sometimes to literally search for those opportunities. Contrarily, people who are less motivated, often times do not attempt to do anything to better hemselves.
Should an opportunity presents itself they find all sorts of excuses or literally ignore it. They have all to gain and nothing to loose! Yet they are unwilling to at least listen to the information you have to share with them. You see their situation, and you are trying to help them to empower themselves, but to no avail!
If you are one of these individuals, it's time for you to make a change and take control of your life. Do something for yourself, be your own boss. Have the freedom of taking your own vacation whenever you want to. Set your own working hours and have more time to spend with your family. Better yet, you don't have to even give up your present job. Keep your job and work part time doing your own business!
Remember, most Americans, after working for a company for a period of approximately 40 years they are then retired.
After retirement, these people often go home leaving behind the company they have helped to build. Sadly, now they are nothing but just past employees, who don't even own a meager percentage of these companies they have toiled so
hard to established.

Most of the mistakes we have made in the past, were somewhat due to poor judgement, distorted critical thinking ability, or lack of knowledge. Thus, if we had that same level of knowledge we had yesterday we would have gone back and repeat those same mistakes! A more logical way to put it is to say "If we had all the knowledge we have today, we could certainly avoid making most of those mistakes we had made in the past."
My advice to everyone who still have an opportunity to make positive changes in their lives, now is the time to do so! Don't keep procrastinating, else you too could someday live to regret the decisions you have made in the past. Acquire all the knowledge you may need to start your journey to self-empowerment, and whenever the opportunities present themselves for you to empower yourself, don't be afraid to lounge at them, because such opportunities may never return.
Avoid listening to negative people and do not give in to your own negative thoughts. Motivational speaker Les Brown says "If you hang out with losers, sooner or later you too will end up being a loser because you will eventually develop their habits and their way of thinking." It is also true that ever so often we allow our own negative thoughts to suffocate our dreams, destroy our marriages, relationships and even rob us of the opportunity to live a successful and happy life.
